MMMM.....Ice Cream!

The other night Dave decided we should ride our bikes over to his parent's house. I agreed on the condition that we stop at Artic Circle on the way for some ice cream. This was Carter's first ice cream cone experience and he LOVED IT! He was such a mess! Here are some cute pics of his enjoying himself thoroughly!

Carter's 1st Trip to the ER!!!!

Ok, so last week (Tuesday July 22nd to be exact) Carter was playing with a wrapping paper cardboard tube in our master bathroom and lost his balance and fell on his wrist on our tile floor. Dave and I were both right next to him when he fell. He cried extra hard and so I picked him up and tried to console him, but he just didn't stop crying. I noticed that he was holding his left arm out kinda funny. I took him into his room to put on his pj's (it was about 9:30 pm) and when I went to put his arm in the sleeve he pulled it away and cried harder. So Dave and I knew something was wrong. We took him to the emergency room and his xray's showed that he had a greenstick fracture on his radius (or his teeny little wrist bone). The doctor put a temporay splint type of cast on him that we kept on for a couple of days until the swelling went down. And then we went to our pediatrician (uncle Ron) and he put a tiny little cast on him. It is honestly so tiny and cute.

Dave and I felt terrible. But there was honestly nothing we could've done to prevent it unfortunately. Dave's Grandpa Bingham always said that toddlers should be required to wear football pads and helmuts so they can survive their many spills! I think he was right!! Carter has adapted quite well to his little cast and enjoys banging it on everything from highchair trays, to metal picknick tables, etc etc. He is definitely ALL BOY - and I hope this isn't just a glimpse of what is to come in his little adventurous life! Here are some pics of his little arm. He has to wear his cast for 4 weeks. Such a bummer way to end the summer huh?

Cutest Video Ever!!

So, while on the houseboat, I got this adorable footage of Carter and his cousin Julianne (aka Juji) singing and dancing to "If you're happy and you know it" Enjoy!

Lake Powell

We are lucky enough to get to go to Lake Powell every year on Grandma and Grandpa Hardman's houseboat. I was a little worried about how Carter would react to wearing his life jacket constantly for 8 days, but he really did well and adapted to it. He had a great time with his aunts, uncles, and cousins, and of course grandma and grandpa. He played in the sand and water and even went on the Tripod tube with mom and dad. He was a little worried about it at first, but as soon as the boat started pulling us, he smiled and had a fun time. The weather was perfect for us and we loved soaking up the sun. Thanks again grandma and grandpa for such a fun time!!

Fun at Grandma's Pool

Dave decided that is was high time for Carter to go down the slide at Grandma Hardman's pool - I mean he is almost 15 months and all! So I agreed, on the conditions that he wore his life jacket and Dave went with him. He loved it! He loves the pool and can hold his breath when he is dunked under water. Carter loves his daddy more than anything. They had so much fun going down the slide! What a brave little guy!

4th of July

We took Carter to the North Ogden Parade and he loved it. My siblings were here from out of town and so it was so fun to be together with them. I even saw Carrie & Bret and Lois there!

Carter enjoyed his first salt water taffy and loved picking up the candy off of the street. We had some fun that night watching Dave light fireworks at Grandma and Grandpa Hardman's house. Carter loved watching them even thought he was pretty sleepy the whole time.

Fun Fun and More Fun!

Wow! This has been quite the month for our little family. We have just been going from one fun thing to the next. We are finally back home now from all the vacations - so needless to say, I have a lot of work to do on this blog. So here we go!

Our first adventure started with a fun trip St. George and Las Vegas with the Taylor family. We stayed at my cousin's cabin, went to see "The Sound of Music" at the Tuachan Theatre, and took a short trip to Vegas to visit my brother Jason and his wife Melinda and their boys. We had a great time at their house just talking, eating and swimming in their amazing new pool. Here is a picture of Carter and I soaking up the blazing hot Vegas sun. It was pretty darn toasty.
